About HearMe.my
Persatuan Ibubapa Anak Masalah Pendengaran Malaysia
Supporting children with hearing impairment and their families across Malaysia since 2015
How We Started
In 2011, a group of mothers with hearing-impaired children connected through Facebook, sharing experiences of parenting children diagnosed with hearing problems who used hearing aids, cochlear implants (CI), or bone-conduction devices (BAHA).
What began as informal Facebook discussions among these mothers evolved into a formal organization. On June 23, 2015, HEAR ME (Persatuan Ibubapa Anak Masalah Pendengaran Malaysia) was officially established as a registered non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children with hearing impairment and their families across Malaysia.
Our founders understood that hearing loss affects not just the child but the entire family unit. They recognized the need for comprehensive support, education, and resources for parents navigating this journey. Today, we have grown to over 128 members across Malaysia, including representatives from Sabah and Sarawak, connecting primarily through WhatsApp.
